Drivers Training

Training for drivers is available through a variety of means. Click around the driver training pages on DMV.ORG to find driving schools close to your home, truck driving schools for commercial drivers, or behind-the-wheel classes available for new drivers.
Choose Your State

Driver's education usually involves classroom time, and time spent behind the wheel is usually considered to be driver's training. Some schools now use driving simulators to allow students more "driving" time.

In order to qualify for a learner's permit or driver's license, many states set a minimum number of hours to be spent behind the wheel. These hours are to be conducted with a licensed driver alongside of you, and in many states, you are required to submit a log to prove the number of hours you have banked.

We'll lead you to your state's driver training requirements, and we link you to the forms for the driver training log-in sheets where available.

In some cases, you may also be required to complete some form of driver training if you've been issued traffic citations for certain offenses, or when you have accumulated too many points on your driving record.

Explore DMV.ORG for the most current information available about driver's training and programs that offer that training in your state.
